what am I getting myself into?
I’ll need a C++ IDE/compiler, graphical and animation tools..
I’m crazy.
When I get to programming, there will be three starting weapons.
Staff
Sword
Bow
To fight with the sword, you’ll hold down ctrl, and slash.
to fight with the staff, you’ll hold down ctrl and swing.
Blocks will be timing based, but universal in front of you to start?
Bow you’ll hold down ctrl to draw/aim, and click to fire. Length of flight will depend on angle, and power, with a max power set at a certain number?
Slashes/swings will be done by moving the mouse.
Movement during slashes and swings should work.
Clicking (blocking) during a slash/swing should be an interupt.
Animations and Models need made before code is made.
I’m so boned.
thoughts for later:
Should there be different varieties of swords, with different animations?
This would be neat. Death for me though.
Maybe I should find a modeler, so that I don’t have to learn to draw.
I think I may make this a Chinese styled martial arts game.

Staff
Bow? did the chinese shoot longbows? Time to go investigate.
So… Frustrated…
How on earth do you make a new human model for Source with XSI? you’d think this would be simple, but it requires me to find a base file which doesn’t seem to actually exist…
grr
As for bows, the Chinese shot recurve bows, much like the Mongolians.
So, yeah. Ok. We can do Chinese.
Work wins.
I lews.
More on this project when I’m human again.
